The Gilbane Family
The Gilbane family has built and owned a construction and real estate business for six generations, beginning with William Gilbane’s contracting work in the nineteenth century. The privately held company now operates through Gilbane Building Company, a construction and facilities-services business, and Gilbane Development Company, its real estate development, investment, and property-management arm. Family members remain involved in governance, while professional executives lead operations; fifth-generation family member Edward Broderick became CEO of parent Gilbane, Inc. in 2024.
