Updated

Career

Ueda advanced through Mitsui Fudosan's office-building business, becoming deputy chief operating officer of the Office Building Division in 2015 and its COO in 2016. He became a director in 2020, a senior executive managing officer in 2021, and representative president and CEO in April 2023. The company describes its portfolio across development and operation of offices, retail, residential, hotels, and other real estate businesses.

Focus

Ueda's path through the office-building division gives him direct operating experience in a core part of Mitsui Fudosan's business. As CEO, his remit covers the wider group and its long-term corporate plan, including its stated priorities for growth, efficiency, and shareholder returns. Company materials support this description of his role and strategy; they do not assign every group investment decision to him individually.

Strategic Priorities

In Mitsui Fudosan's 2025 integrated-report message, Ueda describes a shift from concentrating office demand in a small number of dominant districts toward a more distributed pattern across Tokyo, using the image of a “Yatsugatake mountain range” rather than a single Mount Fuji. He connects this view to redevelopment and to the company's & INNOVATION 2030 growth and financial strategies. This provides a specific example of how he frames the office market and the group's development strategy, while keeping the interpretation attributed to his own published CEO message.
