Career

Carter first joined British Land in 2004, working in strategy, corporate finance and treasury. He left in 2015 to become CFO at Quintain Estates & Development and later Logicor. He returned to British Land as CFO in 2018 and became CEO in November 2020. In January 2026 he announced his intention to leave British Land and join P3; the company said he would take up the new post after the transition.
