Career
Dardick began in banking and led a distressed-real-estate division before co-founding Granite Properties with the Schusterman family in 1991. Granite says it acquired 2.7 million square feet across 22 office buildings, primarily in Dallas, during its first three years. Over three decades as CEO, Dardick grew the firm into a multi-market owner, developer, and manager. Granite now reports owning 11 million square feet of office property across Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Denver, Southern California, Boston, and Nashville. These are company-wide figures, not assets personally owned by Dardick.
Succession and Operating Focus
Granite announced in October 2023 that Will Hendrickson would become CEO on January 1, 2024, while Dardick moved to Executive Chairman. The company said Dardick would remain engaged in guidance, external relations, and investor management. Granite's stated investment approach emphasizes high-quality office properties, mixed-use settings, amenities, customer service, and long-term relationships. The transition kept its founder involved while moving day-to-day executive authority to a leader with market and operating experience inside the firm.
