Mark Preston

Mark Preston is Executive Trustee of Grosvenor, with responsibility for the family's overall business interests and strategy. He joined the group in 1989 and served as its CEO from 2008 to 2025, leading an internationally diversified organization across property, rural estates, and food and agtech. Career

Preston joined Grosvenor in the UK in 1989. He was seconded to Hong Kong in 1995, returned to lead fund-management operations in 1997, and spent four years in San Francisco beginning in 2002. He became CEO of Grosvenor Britain & Ireland in 2006 and CEO of Grosvenor Group in 2008. In May 2025, Grosvenor announced that James Raynor would become Grosvenor Property CEO from September and take responsibility for the international property business. Preston retained the Executive Trustee role, with oversight of overall strategy and performance across the family's activities. Grosvenor's 2025 Annual Review reports a mixed operating year: strong UK property performance offset by North American pressure, a useful example of the diversified business he oversees.

Scope of the Trustee Role

Grosvenor's property businesses develop, manage, and invest across international markets, while other group interests include food and agtech, rural estate management, and philanthropy. Preston's post-transition remit concerns group-wide strategy and outcomes, not day-to-day leadership of every property business. The company lists him as a trustee of the Urban Land Institute and a non-executive director of Grosvenor Food & AgTech.
