Marc Lipschultz
Marc Lipschultz is co-chief executive officer of Blue Owl Capital and a member of its board. He also serves as co-chief investment officer for Blue Owl’s credit advisers. Before Blue Owl, he co-founded Owl Rock Capital Partners, the predecessor to its credit platform. Lipschultz spent more than two decades at KKR, where he sat on the Management Committee and became global head of energy and infrastructure. Before KKR, he worked at Goldman Sachs on mergers and acquisitions and principal investments. His investment background therefore spans operating businesses, infrastructure and credit as well as property-related alternative assets. At Owl Rock, he helped build a direct-lending platform; the firm’s initial strategy concentrated on institutional private credit and later became part of Blue Owl when the businesses combined. His connection to commercial real estate is indirect and should be kept distinct from Blue Owl’s real-assets businesses. Lipschultz’s documented leadership centers on the credit platform and the parent firm, not property acquisitions or operations.
