Gmelich spent more than 20 years at Goldman Sachs, becoming a partner and holding senior roles in fixed income, currencies, and commodities. He was global chief operating officer for that business and earlier global head of credit trading, with service on firmwide and divisional committees. He moved to King Street in 2020 and later took the co-CIO role at Millennium, where his remit shifted from credit-market leadership to firmwide coordination of investment teams. His career has therefore touched real estate through King Street’s dedicated real estate investment committee, but his present title is at a diversified hedge fund rather than a property owner or operating developer. The distinction helps explain his relevance to commercial real estate capital markets without overstating his direct property role. Gmelich studied finance at Villanova, accounting and taxation at USC, and earned an MBA in finance from Columbia, according to Millennium. Millennium biography
