Career

Steinberg joined Dexus in 2012 and served as its CEO and an executive director for nearly 12 years. The company credited him with improving portfolio quality, broadening the business into new sectors, and developing capabilities across its platform. Dexus announced Ross Du Vernet as his successor in December 2023 and said Steinberg would remain CEO through the transition; Du Vernet took over on March 28, 2024. This page records Steinberg's Dexus leadership history and does not imply that he remains the group's CEO.

Real Estate Record

The A$12.9 billion-to-A$54.5 billion funds-under-management comparison comes from Dexus's own account of its growth over the period. It describes a platform-level result during Steinberg's tenure, rather than isolating his individual contribution. The company's public record associates that period with portfolio-quality improvements and diversification into healthcare, opportunistic investment, and infrastructure.
