Career and Focus
Gloor joined Sterling Bay in 2002 and rose through the company’s leadership as it expanded its investment, development and operating capabilities. In Chicago’s Fulton Market, the firm identified potential in former meatpacking and warehouse buildings and repositioned the district for office and retail tenants. Sterling Bay’s account describes Gloor’s acquisition of a former refrigerated warehouse and its redevelopment as a creative office destination for Google. The project helped establish the neighborhood as a technology and corporate office hub.
Sterling Bay now describes a national portfolio spanning creative office, residential, industrial and life sciences assets, with a reported $20 billion in existing and future assets. That company figure includes assets under development and should not be mistaken for owned completed property. Gloor oversees the firm’s portfolio and a team of more than 150, while leading its philanthropic initiative. Before joining, he was a managing director at Insignia/ESG and completed more than five million square feet of commercial real estate transactions, according to a ULI speaker biography. He earned a BA in political science from Miami University. His work combines local urban redevelopment with a broader national investment and development platform.
