Andrew Mathias

Andrew W. Mathias is founder of Edge Park Management, a general investment and advisory firm, and remains a director and adviser to SL Green Realty Corp.. He joined the Manhattan-focused office REIT in 1999, became chief investment officer in 2004 and served as president from 2007 through December 2023. Mathias’s two-and-a-half decades at SL Green coincided with its growth into a major Manhattan office owner. The company credited him with helping lead its expansion from its initial public offering onward. Before becoming president, he oversaw investment activity as CIO and also served as chief investment officer of Gramercy Capital. His earlier career included Capital Trust and its predecessor, Victor Capital Group, as well as Bear Stearns’ high-yield restructuring desk. That mix of property investment and credit experience is relevant to SL Green’s combination of direct ownership and debt and preferred-equity investments. Since leaving the president role at year-end 2023, Mathias has continued as a board director and adviser while establishing Edge Park in January 2024. SL Green’s proxy describes his experience in commercial real estate investment and New York market knowledge as contributions to the board.
